Position Summary

As an integral member of the Nestlé Health Science Legal Department, the Senior Paralegal partners with the attorneys on the team to perform substantive legal work and analysis on a wide variety of issues. This marketing and advertising paralegal position is in the Nestlé USA legal department and manages legal review of marketing, advertising, and product promotional materials. Coordinates legal review for marketing, digital advertising, and social media teams, for Nestlé Health Science U.S. brands.

RESPONSIBILITIES

-Work with marketing teams and attorneys to review labeling, advertising, social media engagement, and print and online promotions

-Respond to routine legal inquiries and draft routine correspondence

-Review and assist with form agreements.

-Coordinate and facilitate legal review and analysis of marketing, advertising and promotional communications for compliance with company policy and legal requirements.

-Act as initial contact with clients on matters and gather information

-Conduct necessary legal and/or business research, provide timely information and make recommendations regarding best practices

-Manage the legal review process, consulting with appropriate supervising attorneys as necessary

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

-Undergraduate degree preferred

-National accreditation as a Certified Paralegal strongly preferred

-Notary license a plus

-Experience with reviewing and interpreting FDA labeling regulations

-Experience with reviewing consumer facing marketing, advertising and promotions for compliance with FTC guidance, regulations, and marketing principles, including the FTC’s Green Guides, Endorsement Guides, Dot.Com Disclosures, and recent guidance on ratings and reviews.

-CPG experience a plus

-5-7 years relevant experience in a corporate legal department or law firm

PREFERRED SKILLS

-Self-starter, ability to manage workflow with tight deadlines and shifting priorities with minimal oversight

-Strong communication and interpersonal skills

-A competent understanding of basic legal requirements related to consumer advertising and promotions

-Knowledge of FTC and FDA guidance and regulations related to labeling and marketing

-Must be proficient in Microsoft Office

-Exemplary organizational skills

-Ability to deal directly with clients and provide direction regarding legal elements of consumer advertising and promotions

-Good business judgment and initiative

-Ability to take independent, decisive action, and to know when to seek advice
