GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:

Perform skilled work in the operation, design and testing of digital controls systems (DDC) for heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning (HVAC) of complex building systems. Aid in the design, implementation, and future compliance of Building Automation System architecture, data modeling, data acquisition, graphical design, and reporting. Critical involvement and management of Alarm classification and rules, data collection architecture and sensor selection, data analysis for energy and performance. reading and understanding blueprints and sequence of operations. The applicant will also be active in facilities’ energy management strategies.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design and implement building control systems.
  • Setup and tune PID systems for air, water control systems.
  • Programming Building Automation Systems with graphical programming languages.
  • Build and maintain graphic web pages within building automation system, using Niagara System.
  • Java programming and maintenance of Kirkwood Niagara module.
  • Building Automation network administration – aid in design, implementation, and compliance.
  • Aid in development of Kirkwood Building Automation Standards.
  • Lead projects to migrate old systems to new control platform, and maintain conformance.
  • Inspect projects and contracted work for compliance with Kirkwood standards.
  • Attend project and construction meetings.
  • Involved with the strategic planning for system controls.
  • Implement and maintain Energy Analysis and Energy Management Control.
  • Work in collaboration with electro-mechanical technicians on a routine basis to resolve system issues and improve energy efficiency.
  • Respond to emergency situations such as: outages and disruption
  • Maintain the preventive maintenance program on system controls
  • Identify and implement operational strategies for campus systems to ensure continuous and reliable service
  • Lead data analysis and analytics for Building Automation System.
  • Perform other related work duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES WITH/WITHOUT REASONABLE ACCOMMODATION:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree, or transfer equivalent, in STEM/Computer Science, Engineering-related field.

4 years of recent and relevant full-time work experience with-in automation.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS, LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, OR REGISTRATIONS:

Experience Niagara systems.

2 years Java programming experience.

Experience in web development.

Previous experience with controls, control engineering, PID loops, and control logic.

Experience in CAPA/Six Sigma or Reliability Engineering
