Job Description

We’re seeking a dynamic, innovative, results-oriented Email Marketing Manager. The ideal candidate will be collaborative, efficient, analytical, solutions-driven and self-motivated to continually find ways to leverage our platforms and email channel to optimize and improve performance. He/she will also have experience building and executing digital marketing plans and delivering against agreed upon key performance indicators.

Reporting to the Manager, Digital Marketing, this role will be responsible for flawless execution of marketing campaigns leveraging the email channel to closed member marketing audiences. The desired candidate will have a strong technical background in Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC) with a deep understanding of customer experience & journey design and implementation. Candidate should have experience and knowledge of email campaign workflows, deliverability best practices, Journey Builder, Automation Studio, Web Studio, and deployment best practices.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Marketing Strategy + Execution

  • Build, test and deploy marketing and email campaigns including personalization and dynamic content across the different Studios in SFMC
  • Implement solutions for personalized, dynamic digital messages, using HTML, CSS, and AMPScript
  • Be able to work with other business units and share learnings / best practices with the desire to educate and drive results
  • Troubleshoot and support implemented Salesforce applications
  • Leverage Journey Builder to deliver multi-touch communications
  • Create SQL queries in Automation Studio to segment audiences
  • Maintain best practices for Marketing Automation Platforms, including troubleshooting, naming conventions, list management, etc.
  • Provide troubleshooting / first line of support for stakeholders working on deliverables and encountering errors or technical issues with SFMC platform
  • Represent the digital marketing area on projects that integrate / intersect with SFMC
  • Strategically ideate ways to apply email communication to deliver results
  • Look at best practices within and outside of our industry to apply to marketing campaigns
  • Understand our audiences / database and how to leverage effectively for marketing campaigns
  • Ensure flawless execution of email marketing campaigns in SFMC
  • Leverage marketing automation tools to develop transactional, promotional, and informational content strategies that maximize customer retention
  • Communicate key insights and findings to all levels of leadership (including senior management) and optimize programs based on data-driven analysis
  • Work collaboratively with the data and analytics teams on the segmentation of the database to establish the most effective targeting and personalization strategies
  • Stay up-to-date with the industry in everything from deliverability, to send frequency, to subject line best practices and best-in-class creative approaches
  • Report on campaigns and constantly review metrics to determine what is working and what can be improved
  • Coordinate with internal partners closely to manage and optimize email campaigns to drive engagement of existing owner and retention efforts to combat churn
  • Work collaboratively with the analytics team on segmentation of the database to establish the most effective targeting and personalization strategies

Travel Requirements

Travel required to work with platform vendors, agency partners and regional business partners to receive and provide training and support for prioritized business initiatives. – up to 10%

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years direct experience working with enterprise-level Email service provider platforms, SFMC preferred
  • 3+ years working with HTML and CSS for email
  • 3+ years working email marketing
  • Strong QA/UAT Skills
  • Excellent and proven critical thinking skills to quickly evaluate issues, troubleshoot, and prioritize accordingly
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Marketing / Technology or SFMC certifications including Marketing Cloud Admin, Marketing Cloud Email Specialist, or Salesforce Admin

Preferred Qualifications

  • Direct experience working within SFMC using AMPScript, Email Studio, Journey Builder, Automation Studio, and Contact Builder
  • Strong experience in email campaign execution and development experience, which could include a mix of architecture, design, and hands-on coding and hand-on use of Email Service Platforms (ESPs)
  • Experience with SQL scripting for automated and triggered deployments, direct code requirements for IT partners, and managing QA/UAT testing
  • SFMC certifications including Marketing Cloud Admin, Marketing Cloud Email Specialist, or Salesforce Admin (must have if no degree)
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to juggle multiple priorities concurrently
  • Ability to adapt to change and operate in a dynamic environment
  • Hospitality, Travel and/or timeshare industry experience
  • Passionate about engaging customers and building a strong retention business
  • Strong attention to detail and highly analytical
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • A data-driven mindset with a curiosity to ideate and drive what’s next maximizing impact of e-mail communications
