We are looking for a motivated candidate to join our interdisciplinary team for an exciting opportunity to serve as our Program Manager for the Master of Science in Health Informatics program.

Job Summary

The Clinical Informatics Center is looking for a motivated candidate to join our interdisciplinary team for an exciting opportunity to serve as our Program Manager for the Master of Science in Health Informatics program. The Program Manager will serve as the primary point of contact for the Master of Science in Health Informatics program including prospective and current students. This position will also work closely with staff, faculty, and deans at the graduate school and is responsible for the following tasks.

  • Manage all administrative aspects of the Master of Science in Health Informatics program.
  • Collaborate with the graduate school in the following areas:
  • Communications and marketing
  • Recruitment, admissions, international affairs, enrollment, student affairs, and graduation
  • Course management/curriculum delivery and oversight
  • Financial management and oversight of student billing
  • Program policy development adherence
  • Reporting and special projects
  • Ensure all regulatory requirements are met in a timely fashion.
  • Assist the Administrative Manager and Director with a wide range of administrative responsibilities and support activities related to the following:
  • Academic Programs including Administration
  • Training Grant Administration
  • Fellowship
  • Data and Record Administration
  • Faculty Services
  • Conferences and Special Projects
  • Outreach
  • Human Resources
  • Space and Facilities Management

Job Duties

  • Directs and coordinates activities to develop new and maintain existing Department activities, programs and special initiatives (including but not limited to hackathons, codeathons, educational offerings, internship programs, core resource outreach and education programs, and research training workshops).
  • Works closely with Department leadership to define program scope, goals and deliverables that support business goals; develop full-scale program plans and associated communications documents; and effectively communicate program expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.
  • Manage the program promotion and event recruitment and serve as the central point of contact for applicants, attendees, program/event staff, and vendors and other external stakeholders.
  • Edit documents, provide comprehensive review for grant proposals, and provide ongoing management of awarded grants related to Department activities, programs, and special initiatives.
  • Projects and monitors budget for each activity, program, or special initiative. Works closely with Department financial analysts to monitor associated billing, sourcing, and expenditures.
  • Design and maintain a system for data collection and create process to ensure that metrics are collected to track and evaluate achievement of program goals.
  • Maintain collaborative relationships between different departments, universities, and community partners.
  • Set and continually manage program expectations with team members and other stakeholders; delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel; identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the program team.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Experience and Education

  • BA/BS in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Public Policy or related field and five (5) years relevant work experience.
  • Experience managing aspects of large (e.g., 100+ attendees) academic events or workshops is required.
  • Ability to be flexible, collaborative in a team, and generally willing to support and uplift team members.

Preferred Experience and Education

  • Master’s degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Public Policy or related field and one (1) year relevant work experience preferred.
  • Previous experience in an academic setting working with trainees or students.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Able to deal with confidential and sensitive information.
  • Able to work independently and to collaborate with others.
  • Ability to manage concurrent projects and multiple priorities.
  • High degree of flexibility and adaptability.
  • Skills with Word, Excel, and Power Point required.
  • Knowledge of and/or experience with research environments helpful
  • Supportive and encouraging approach towards trainees
  • Excellent ability to adhere to regulatory and educational requirements
