Bryant University invites applications for a full-time term lecturer position in first-year Writing/Composition and Literary Studies. We welcome candidates with training and experience to teach in at least one of the following areas: Universal Design Learning, Pedagogy, Assessment, Social Justice/DEIB, First-Generation Student Experience. The university is seeking a Lecturer in Writing and Literature for the fall 2022 semester, beginning on September 6, 2022.
Bryant University is a selective, four-year, residential university that has academic programs that are distinguished by an integration of the arts and sciences with business. Our innovative academic programs are attuned to the needs of industry and society. We have 3459 undergraduate students who hail from 36 states and 59 countries. We also have 211 full- and part-time graduate students. Bryant is located in Smithfield, RI, and is 15 minutes northwest of Providence, RI, and one hour south of Boston, MA.
The position is for one year but may be renewable pending the performance of the candidate and the needs of the university. Expectations include a 4-4 teaching load. Course load will include WRIT106 Writing Workshop and LCS121 Introduction to Literary Studies. Providing service to the department and the university are also required.
MA or PhD in Composition/Rhetoric, English, or a related field required. Candidates must have a strong teaching background.
Regular attendance at assigned job site and the ability to work collaboratively with co-workers and constituents are essential functions of this position.
