Job Responsibilities

As an IT/Software Consultant, you will aide in the creation, implementation, and management of financial software for clients. You will develop more complex requirements and expand the functionality of existing solutions.

Other responsibilities of the Consultant role include:

  • Maintaining legacy systems
  • Strong proficiency in VBA
  • Work closely with management and end-users to create and evaluate business requirements to support delivery of effective business intelligence and reporting solutions
  • Create technical designs and functional specifications for reporting solutions
  • Design, develop and deploy front-end systems to support reporting, data warehouse and integration with enterprise applications
  • Create and maintain documentation of processes, reports, applications, and procedures as per department policy
  • Assist in the design, planning, implementation, administration and maintenance of the business intelligence platform
  • Supporting team lead in soliciting and gathering requirements for customized solutions
  • Facilitating end-user testing and making modifications to databases
  • Preparing SOPs and user guides for applications
  • Developing engagement deliverables independently
  • Collaborating with team members to address any concerns
  • Supporting an in-depth analysis of information needs and providing creative solutions
  • Supporting internal workflow and processes of engagement team
  • Actively participate in product design reviews by providing creative and practical ideas and solutions in a teamwork environment.
  • Using MS Office automation

As an IT/Software Consultant, you must have an aptitude for financial reporting and internal control. You must be a solution developer that anticipates the ever changing needs of our federal clients. This position has the potential to become a product and/or project manager, so we are seeking candidates with excellent leadership skills and the desire to grow with our Company. You must be able to understand and maintain legacy systems in MS Access using VBA. You must be able to meet contractual requirements while also providing value-added customer service.

Other requirements of the Consultant role include:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university, Finance, Accounting, Math, Business, Economics or other applicable quantitative or technical field
  • At least 4 years of database development work experience
  • Experience developing SQL Server-based solutions
  • Keen understanding of relational database designs and experience programming in T-SQL
  • Knowledge of .NET and SharePoint development is a plus with a desire to cultivate expertise
  • Ability to work efficiently within MS Access and program VBA
  • Ability to articulate database development issues into laymen business language for senior government executives, a plus
  • Ability to work independently in analyzing problems and identifying solutions
  • Team and customer service oriented
  • Accounting and finance knowledge and experience for reporting and internal controls
  • Ability to obtain security clearance; US citizenship required
