Ensure legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable federal and state requirements, conducting investigations, responding to audits and maintaining records.
Develop and evolve employee policies to meet state/federal regulation and company specific needs.
Partner with HR Manager to build standard operating procedures (SOPs) in application of policies.
Coordinate with external counsel on employment tax issues.
Maintain compliance with federal and state employment law regulations.
Complete annual reporting for Affordable Care Act, EEO-1, and similar such federally required reports.
Maintain compliance with regulatory mailings, filings, non-discrimination testing, etc.
Responsible for annual beneficiary and dependent audits.
Conduct periodic audits to ensure the data integrity across platforms (HRIS, Benefits Admin system, and other vendor platforms).
What we’re looking for:
2-3+ years of experience as a HR Compliance Specialist or closely related position.
Experience with federal employment laws and regulations (Title VII, FLSA, ADA, ADEA, FMLA, ACA, etc.).
Experience with state-specific employment laws and regulations (leave laws, overtime regulations, anti-discrimination, etc.).
Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook); comfortable working in HRIS & Payroll systems.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent and dynamic verbal, written and presentation skills; must be capable of communicating information to diverse audiences in a virtual and in-person environment.
Formal education in HR or a related field is a plus.
PHR, SHRM-CP, and similar professional certifications are a plus.
Some of our benefits:
Subsidized medical/dental/vision insurance
Company-paid life, short-term, & long-term disability insurance
Generous paid time off (including parental leave and an annual company shutdown between Christmas & New Year’s)
401k with company contribution
Annual learning & development budget + access to LinkedIn Learning
Quarterly swag & care packages
Paid subscriptions to Headspace, Doordash, Sworkit, and other wellness apps
At Deep Silver Volition we believe in fostering an open, collaborative, and diverse environment, and we are proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
