Job Summary: The Rochester Educational Opportunity Center (REOC), part of SUNY Brockport, is accepting applications for a High School Equivalency Lecturer. The Lecturer in this role will teach a course load of 20 hours per week and maintain 4 weekly office hours. The Lecturer also works as an integral member of the academic faculty team and the High School Equivalency team. Academic Lecturers are also expected to participate in Center-wide faculty meetings, department meetings and to serve on at least one center-wide committee. Additionally, the person in this role is expected to engage in on-going relevant professional development activities and incorporate the use of technology in the classroom and courses taught.
- Bachelor’s degree in Education by time of appointment from a college or university accredited by the U.S. Department of Education or an internationally recognized college or university.
- Strong math and science teaching experience.
- Demonstrated ability to use technology: MS Office, Banner (or similar reporting software), Blackboard (or similar LMS).
- Ability to learn new and emerging technologies.
- Experience in working with diverse adult learners.
- Master’s Degree.
- Experience teaching High School coursework.
- 3-5 years in teaching adults.
Work Schedule: M – F
