Our Product & Technology (P&T) organization builds solutions that provide personalized financial planning and advice for over 1.3 million clients, accounting for over $290B in assets under management and used daily by our team of 340+ planners. Our teams are empowered to make decisions that drive business value without red-tape and push the bounds of financial and technical innovation. We are looking for an Engineering Manager to lead a new squad that will be implementing a new marketing technology platform for our business. This is an exciting new initiative that will evolve our existing data foundation into a scalable platform in the cloud that will enable our marketing and customer experience teams to drive tremendous growth in our financial planning business. As an Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for recruiting and directly managing a team of engineers and for helping them to grow in their careers. In addition, you will be a partner to the product manager on the team, identifying and proposing solutions to help us achieve our business objectives and then leading the engineers to deliver those solutions with well crafted software. The ideal candidate should have both people leadership skills as well as a strong technical background and should be comfortable working closely with both senior leaders across the organization as well as engineers on the team. Responsibilities:

  • Recruit, directly manage, and grow engineers on your team
  • Partner with the product manager on the squad to implement our marketing technology roadmap
  • Guide the engineering team on technical design and ensure that the software that we build meets our high standards for quality and maintainability
  • Own the martech platform that the team implements and ensure that we maintain them over time and pay down technical debt every sprint
  • Track the teams progress toward our quarterly goals and work with our agile coaches to continuously improve how we operate and deliver software

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience in software engineering, including experience directly managing engineers
  • Experience with industry leading martech platforms such as Adobe Marketing Cloud or Salesforce Marketing Cloud is a huge plus
  • Experience working with marketing teams and collaborators across the organization
  • Experience working in an agile environment to build and deliver great software
  • BS in Computer Science or a related field or equivalent experience
