Sawtooth Concepts is looking for an Engineering Drafter – Millwork & Cabinetry to create detailed drawings of custom cabinets for construction projects.

Pay is $18.00-$24.00/hr DOE

This is a Full-Time position (Mon-Fri) with some opportunity for overtime. As a sister company to Scentsy, Inc., we provide excellent benefits such as Paid Time Off, Holiday Pay, and Medical/Vision/Dental benefits as well as competitive wages.

Signing Bonus: $1500 total! $300 on your first pay period, $400 on your third pay period, and $800 after 90 days!!

What You Would Do:

  • Create 2D and 3D shop drawings for submittal to the customer, designer, and/or architect
  • Support project estimating with material, hardware, and specialty material costs
  • Update shop drawings per customer, designer, and/or architect comments
  • Update shop drawings with field-verified dimensions
  • Provide complete, detailed, and accurate drawings to manufacturing operations
  • Prepare production information (e.g. drawings, cut lists, BOM) providing the necessary information for programming, machining, and assembly operations
  • Support production, manufacturing, and installation throughout the project
  • Provide detailed drawings for use in purchasing outsourced product
  • Maintain a library of standard design, drawings, and specifications
  • Work directly with shop floor personnel on issues and manufacturing concerns, ensuring continuous product and process improvements
  • Operate a variety of standard and specialty woodworking equipment: hand, power, and pneumatic tools
  • Operate a variety of woodworking powered machinery: edge bander, doweler, CNC router, and panel saw
  • Maintain tools and machinery and escalate problems requiring service
  • Assemble cabinet parts with glue, screws, staples, and other fasteners
  • Perform quality checks and stage assembled cabinetry and components for storage or shipping
  • Restock parts and hardware, unload, sort, and put away materials in the shop
  • Clean and maintain shop work areas, including machinery and tools, to ensure a safe working environment
  • Perform other assigned tasks and requirements as assigned

You Should Have:

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent experience
  • 2 years of experience using CAD, Cabinet Vision or similar CAD/ CAM a plus
  • Hand sketching and SketchUp experience is a plus
  • Cabinetmaking experience in a production environment or other closely related production woodworking experience

  • Ability to read and understand architectural plans and specifications
  • Knowledge of software programs including Microsoft Office Suite and CAD/ CAM
  • Must be a highly motivated problem solver capable of developing solutions and seeing them through to completion
  • Must have solid organizational skills, including multitasking and time-management
  • Ability to work well with a team
  • Strong mathematics skills
  • Work can often be sedentary in nature but may require frequent standing and walking
  • Work can frequently require the ability to stand, bend, squat, walk, reach above shoulder level, perform repetitive manual dexterity, have both arms and legs accessible and occasionally, sit, and crawl
  • Must be able to lift and move up to 70 lbs. safely throughout the facility repeatedly
  • Ability to ascend and descend stairs, step stools, ladders, scaffolding, platform ladders or mechanically elevated devices

Expected salary: $18 – 24 per hour
