Job description: Parker & Ace is a new kind of veterinary clinic that combines the warmth and familiarity of a local veterinarian with modern technology and design as an extension of the patient/doctor relationship, not a replacement. We will offer a membership model with concierge primary care through an in-clinic, virtual, or hybrid experience. Members will have access to quality veterinarians wherever and whenever care is needed. We will use telehealth to triage patients to ensure that we are maximizing the impact of our veterinarians and minimizing any unnecessary visits. Parker & Ace will be merging the best of human healthcare with a seamless consumer experience to offer customized, quality care that our furry companions deserve.

As our Director of Medical Operations, you will help us build an entirely new kind of telemedicine veterinary clinic that re-envisions how veterinary clinics operate, care and treat for patients, and value veterinary professionals.

In this role, you will define our practice offerings and operational structure, influence the design of our clinic and mobile / telehealth offerings, hire and develop an incredible team and build an incredible culture. You will report to and work closely with our CEO, Head of Product and Chief of Staff.

What you’ll do:

  • Oversee the design and implementation of our PIMS software, which entails:
  • Identifying the products and services we will offer at the practice
  • Determining our pricing strategy for all products and services offered
  • Pairing specific exams and treatments with corresponding products/services
  • Creating more automated workflows in our PIMS to improve operational efficiency
  • Build Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) that detail our most common workflows in the practice to ensure consistency and best practices
  • Collaborate with our design architects and internal stakeholders to ensure our clinic layout creates a welcoming environment for our pet parents and pets
  • Ensure the clinic layout is designed to create an efficient workplace for our clinical team
  • Develop a practice team schedule that adapts as we launch and scale clinic headcount and patient volume
  • Help us find great practice team members by:
  • Creating job descriptions and outlining key responsibilities
  • Determining fair compensation and benefits that will attract the right talent
  • Creating a timeline of when we need to begin recruiting specific roles
  • Building a training program to familiarize new team members with our PIMS and clinical operations playbook
  • Collaborate with our CEO to determine ways to build a strong company-wide culture that values all employees and results in best-in-class retention
  • Create clinical Team Recruiting Materials:
  • Clear overview of Parker & Ace mission
  • Determine attractive compensation and benefits for clinical team
  • Identify ways to build a strong clinical culture
  • Create and implement the following:
  • Clinical Products/Services & Pricing
  • Medical Handbook
  • Clinical SOAPs
  • Telemedicine Protocols
  • Clinical Team Training Materials

What you’ll need:

  • Background
  • 8+ years of experience working in a four-wall veterinary clinic
  • 3+ years of experience developing and operationalizing processes across multiple, distributed teams (10+ people)
  • Background as a Veterinarian (DVM or equivalent)
  • Experience implementing and scaling a PIMS in a veterinary setting
  • Demonstrated success hiring, training, and developing veterinary talent
