Job description: As an Associate in Strategic Analytics, you’ll work with the DCS risk team to generate thoughtful analytics and recommendations to the business concerning strategy development, implementation, operational controls, and performance monitoring. As a Risk Manager within DCS Wholesale Credit, you will assist our Head of Portfolio Analytics and Chief Risk Officer by managing and executing entire projects or components of projects from start to finish including project management, data gathering and manipulation, problem solving, communication of insights and recommendations. Projects will involve stakeholders from and have impact to functions across the line of business and is typically geared towards revenue enhancement, cost reduction, risk mitigation, process improvement or other priorities as defined by management.

Responsibilities

  • Manage Analytic Projects independently and in collaboration with partners across the line of business
  • Serve as the bridge to business and analytic teams to help drive a culture of data driven decision making
  • Where necessary, perform data analytics and validation with complex datasets to derive useful insights
  • Support in the establishment of scalable, efficient, and automated processes and infrastructure that allows for large scale data analyses and model development
  • Collaborate with Data, BI and other technical teams to map source data and data pipelines and define business rules and reporting requirements that will support business team efficiently consume data and develop insights
  • Lead and develop agendas and presentation decks with an ability to present at all levels of management

Qualifications

  • An undergraduate degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Information Systems, Engineering, or other STEM related fields; MS/MBA preferred
  • 3+ years of professional hands-on experience in Business Analysis, BI, Reporting or similar functions; preferably in consumer or commercial finance
  • Fluent in SQL and comfortable in querying large databases
  • Experience with Data Analysis Tools (SAS, Python, R etc.)
  • Experience with Data visualization Tools (Tableau, Looker, Alteryx, Business Objects etc.)
  • Understanding and familiarity of statistical and financial concepts including regression, decision trees, time series and advanced modeling techniques
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Must be highly disciplined, a self-starter, and have the ability to execute on assignments independently
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and technical skills with the ability to multi-task and drive projects to completion
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work with key partners and a variety of people throughout the organization
